Aiken, SC (March 30, 2023) An accident involving a vehicle caused traffic congestion on East Pine Log Road in Aiken on Wednesday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. The Aiken Department of Public Safety issued a traffic advisory informing motorists that both eastbound lanes of East Pine Log Road from Powderhouse to South Centennial Avenue were blocked due to the accident.
Fortunately, by 4 p.m., the East Pine Log Road was cleared, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety. However, drivers were warned to anticipate significant
delays traveling in the westbound lanes and were advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the area until further notice.
Sam Fuller, the principal of South Aiken High School, informed the public that a significant traffic incident had occurred on Pine Log Road, which would prevent access to and from South Aiken through Pine Log Road. He urged drivers to use Whiskey Road and South Centennial Drive to enter and exit South Aiken. However, the accident did not impact normal school operations other than traffic flow.
