Athens, GA – Driver Injured in Car Crash at McPhaul Center

Athens, GA (October 16, 2021) – At 12:17 p.m. on Friday, October 15, a car crash occurred in a parking lot in Athens.

According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened in the McPhaul Center parking lot. Two vehicles were trying to leave the parking lot when they collided with each other forcefully. The vehicles involved in the accident were left with extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person was evaluated at the scene for their injuries. They are expected to make a full recovery.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
