Athens, GA – One Injured in Car Accident in Parking Lot on River Rd

Athens, GA (October 5, 2021) – At 3:52 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, October 4, a car accident happened on a roadway in Athens.

According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened on River Road in the parking lot to the Ramsey Center. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the crash were left with extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One victim, who was not identified, was injured in the crash. They are expected to recover from their injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
