Atlanta, GA – One Injured in Serious Truck Accident on I-285

Atlanta, GA (November 9, 2021) – On Tuesday, November 9, a truck accident with injuries occurred on a major highway in Atlanta.

According to Cobb County Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of-285 around the area of Atlanta Road. A black BMW was headed south on the highway when the driver drove into another lane. A tractor-trailer was unable to stop in time and slammed into the BMW. The BMW then crashed into a wall and came to rest under the bridge for Atlanta Road. The vehicles sustained extensive damage as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 33-year-old driver of the BMW was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt in the crash.

Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was closed down for several hours in the area.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
