Austell, GA (November 25, 2021) – Around 6:50 p.m. on Thursday evening, November 25, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in the Cobb County area.
According to Cobb County officials, in conjunction with the Austell Police Department, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 around the area of Fulton Industrial and the I-75/85 split.
Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles, two pickup trucks, were extensively damaged. News footage from the scene showed both pulled onto the shoulder.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes in the area, which led to delays until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
Georgia Highway Car Accidents
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people suffer from injuries caused by car accidents in the state of Georgia. Unfortunately, many of these accidents can be prevented but continue to take place due to the outright reckless acts of others who share our roads.
In fact, more than 115,000 people were injured in car accidents due to negligent reasons in only one year. Though these accidents can happen virtually anywhere, highways are some of the most common places for collisions. Some reasons for crashes that occur on our highways include distracted driving, drunk driving, speeding, and more.
