Clarkesville, GA – Two Killed in Fatal Accident on GA-365

Clarkesville, GA (October 30, 2021) – At 7 p.m. on Friday night, October 29, a fatal accident occurred on a highway in Clarkesville.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on GA-365 around the area of Mt. Zion Road. The driver of a Toyota Matrix was traveling in the area when the driver attempted to cross the highway. The 26-year-old female driver failed to yield and pulled out, striking a southbound E-150 van.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Toyota, a 29-year-old passenger, and a 5-year-old boy were seriously injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment. The passenger and boy were pronounced dead while there. The two occupants inside the van also sustained injuries but were not hospitalized.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene. Charges are pending against the at-fault driver.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
