Cobb Co, GA – Deputies Investigate I-285 Car Accident at I-75 Ramp

Cobb Co, GA (September 11, 2021) – On Saturday afternoon, September 11, a multi-vehicle collision took place on a highway in Atlanta, resulting in injuries and involving at least two vehicles.

Deputies with the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the accident occurred on a westbound exit ramp from Interstate 285 near the transition to Interstate 75 around 5:00 p.m. The wreck reportedly happened near milepost 20.1, blocking all exit lanes, and involved two cars that collided for unknown reasons.

Cobb paramedics and fire crews responded to the scene of the crash and worked to assist victims. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known.

It appears that at least one victim was treated at the scene or transported to the hospital via ambulance. Officers collected evidence and conducted the on-scene portion of their investigation, though they are still working to piece together the events leading up to the incident.

Cobb County officials have not released any identifying information about the drivers involved.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
