Dalton, GA – Elderly Woman Killed in Fatal Fire on Riverbend Rd

Dalton, GA (September 20, 2021) – On Sunday evening, September 19, an elderly woman was killed in a fatal fire in Dalton.

According to Dalton Fire Rescue officials, the fire broke out in a home at 1011 Riverbend Road. Fire crews were called to the scene around 5:45 p.m. They were initially told that there was still a woman inside the home so they went in through a window to attempt to find her. They eventually found the woman in a bedroom in the back of the house.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The woman inside the home was identified as an 86-year-old woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured in the fire.

The area was blocked for an extended period of time as police and fire crews cleared the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
