Lithonia, GA – Police Officer Injured in Car Crash on Turner Hill Rd

Lithonia, GA (September 10, 2021) – On Thursday night, September 9, a police officer was injured in a car crash in Lithonia.

According to DeKalb County Police, the accident happened at 2800 Turner Hill Road near the area of Covington Highway. A police cruiser was traveling in the area when it collided with another vehicle that lost control. The cruiser was badly damaged at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. The officer inside the vehicle, identified only as an adult female, was seriously injured in the collision. She was taken to the hospital for treatment, though her condition is not yet known.

The other driver remained at the scene. The party, who has not yet been identified, was charged with DUI and taken to jail.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
