Lyerly, GA (March 4, 2023) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place at an intersection around 8:30 p.m. in Lyerly on Saturday, March 4.
According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-114 and Dovers Cut Road. Police confirmed that two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to collide with each other. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the collision and had to be towed from the scene, prompting tow companies to the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were treated at the scene by EMS crews and then rushed to local hospitals for further treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the road was blocked at the intersection for some time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared by police.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident remains ongoing at this time.
We offer our warmest thoughts and prayers to the parties who have sustained injuries in this collision.
