Perry, GA – Several Injured in Car Accident Following Chase on I-75

Perry, GA (October 6, 2021) – At 10:35 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, October 6, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Perry.

According to the Dooly County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-75 around the area of Warner Robins. Police suddenly entered into a chase with a driver who refused to stop for them. The chase continued for an extended period of time until the driver attempted to exit the Interstate. The driver started to exceed approximately 100 miles per hour when he struck a passenger vehicle and did not stop. He then struck two other passenger vehicles near Margie Drive.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The civilian drivers in the passenger vehicles were all reportedly injured but they are expected to be okay.

When police finally stopped the fleeing driver, they found a large amount of marijuana and a handgun.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
