Pedestrian Accidents in Georgia
As more and more individuals choose to walk as their mode of transportation, more risks to pedestrians become prevalent. Georgia has major issues when it comes to pedestrian accidents, which are on the rise throughout the state. Georgia actually ranks 4th in the entire country when it comes to pedestrian-related fatalities. In 2021, approximately 348 pedestrians were killed in fatal pedestrian collisions and many others sustained serious injuries. Pedestrians are likely to become injured in accidents moreso than other parties due to the fact that they have no protections from harm. If you have sustained harm in a pedestrian accident that is not your fault, you should speak with an attorney who has your best interests in mind.
No matter the circumstances leading up to your pedestrian accident, you should know that there are options available for you after a collision. Even if you believe that you are partially at fault for your accident, speaking with an attorney can point you in the right direction. Many serious injuries stem from pedestrian accidents, including some of the following:
- Spinal cord injuries
- Paralysis
- Internal organ damage
- Fractures
These injuries sometimes land victims in the hospital or cause them to miss out on time in the workplace. If you have been hurt in a pedestrian accident, you should speak with a Rossville personal injury lawyer that you can rely on.
